Ohio HVAC Contractors

We provide Ohio HVAC continuing education code courses that explains the newest changes in HVAC codes. These courses will help you understand the new changes and keep you compliant. We also have courses in development for the Ohio HVAC license exam, so remember to check back often. There are currently 8 hours of Ohio HVAC continuing education for you to choose between.

If you need help passing the state exam, we offer Ohio HVAC license exam prep, and live classroom seminars. These classes will prepare you to pass the Ohio HVAC license exam. The structured lessons focus on the key points of the state exams, and show you what reference materials are essential to passing the state exams. And we can help you keep your Ohio HVAC license current with our online Ohio HVAC continuing education.

We are currently developing Ohio HVAC continuing education courses. The Ohio HVAC continuing education will maintain the high stardards that American Contractor's Exam Services has set for all the training we provide. The courses that will be offered are:

    • HVAC and Mold - Now that mold is a hot topic in the construction industry, this course will cover HVAC systems as a source of mold, new construction and mold, rightsizing, standards and regulations, liability, and litigation.
    • Job Costs and Estimating - Topics covered in this continuing education include pricing strategies, estimating overhead and profit, planning overhead, cost recording, and the estimating process.
    • Basic Electrical Calculations - This course includes to properly design, install, and maintain electrical equipment for HVAC systems. Topics covered are electrical working definitions, concepts, math for electrical calculations, conductors, electrical desing, and layout calculations.
    • OSHA Standards - The topics included in this course will review preventing fatalities, construction regulations for the building industry, fire protection and prevention, first aid and medical attention, and scaffolds.


    These are the current requirements for renewing your Ohio HVAC license. We will always provide the newest information available and will update the requirements as soon as there are changes.

  • To renew your HVAC Contractors License in the state of Ohio, you are required to complete 10 hours of continuing education every year.
  • HVAC Licenses expire every year and continuing education must be completed prior to expiration. Excess continuing education hours may not be carried over to the next renewal cycle.
  • HVAC Contractors may take any approved course in the state of Ohio. Continuing education courses must be pre-approved through the Board.
  • The continuing education course providers are required to submit continuing education hours completed to the Board within 7 days. Contractors are encouraged to maintain a record of continuing education completion. The Board will only accept proof of hours from the course provider.

This 2-hour course satisfies the State Rules requirements for Air Conditioning / Refrigeration Contractors.
2003 International Mechanical Code Review

2 hours for $20.00 online!
This 2-hour course is a review of commonly-used codes in the 2003 IMC.
Manual J Residential Calculations

2 hours for $20.00 online!
This 2-hour course covers A/C load calculations for residential buildings using the Manual J.
Manual N Commercial Calculations

1 hour for $10.00 online!
This 1-hour course covers A/C load calculations for commercial buildings using the Manual N.
Using the ACCA Duct Slide Rule

1 hour for $10.00 online!
This 1-hour course covers duct sizing and system design using the ACCA Duct Slide Rule.
